The 10-minute evening reset our crews swear by
Ask any of our 140 pros what keeps a home feeling clean between visits and you'll hear the same answer: not big weekend sessions, but ten quiet minutes every evening. Here is the exact routine we teach every new crew member on day one.
Minutes 1–3: reset the surfaces
Clear every horizontal surface back to its home state — kitchen counters, coffee table, nightstands. You're not cleaning yet, just returning objects to where they live. A clear surface reads as clean before it is even wiped.
“A clear surface reads as clean before it is wiped. That is half the trick.”
Minutes 4–6: one cloth, one room
Pick the room that worked hardest today — usually the kitchen. One microfiber cloth, one spritz of a pH-neutral spray, one pass from back to front. Done. Resist the urge to deep clean; consistency beats intensity.
Minutes 7–10: floors and the final 1%
- Run a cordless vacuum through the main walkway only
- Empty the smallest bin in the house
- Fold the throw and fluff two pillows
- Start the dishwasher — even if it isn't completely full
That last step matters more than it sounds. Waking up to an empty sink is the single biggest predictor of whether a home stays tidy through the next day.
