Anna Lindqvist was cleaning apartments to pay for design school when she noticed the industry's quiet problem: underpaid contractors, harsh chemicals and clients who never saw the same face twice.
So she built the opposite. Salaried pros with benefits. A training standard written down to the last baseboard. Our own plant-based formula. And the same crew, every visit.

Frustrated with harsh chemicals, we develop our own plant-based cleanser with a Brooklyn lab. Refills arrive a year later.

We move every cleaner to a salaried W-2 contract with health insurance, paid leave and a clear path to crew lead.

Klar becomes one of the first cleaning companies in New York to earn B Corp certification for its people and planet practices.
Tribeca studio opens
