Feel the
warmth

Every baffle is mapped to the female body: more loft at the core and kidneys, less bulk under the arms. The result is a jacket that's warmer than it looks — and lighter than it feels.

Our story

Born in a very cold place

Founder Sigrún Kalda couldn't find a women's down jacket that was both truly warm and genuinely beautiful. So she drew one on a café napkin in Reykjavík — and never stopped.

2014

A napkin sketch in Reykjavík

Sigrún hand-sews 60 jackets in her apartment. They sell out in eleven days, mostly to friends of friends.

2017

The first Aurora

Our signature puffer launches with body-mapped baffles designed exclusively on female fit models.

2020

Brooklyn atelier opens

We bring production to a 9,000 sq ft studio on Wythe Avenue, with a −30°C test chamber in the basement.

2023

Lifetime repairs

Every kalda. ever made qualifies for free repairs, forever. Our repair room now fixes 400 jackets a month.

2025

Toronto & made-to-measure

A third studio opens in Toronto, and our made-to-measure programme lets you build a jacket around your exact body.

What we believe

Warm by design

Body-mapped insulation, tested in a chamber and on real winters before anything ships.

Repair forever

Rips, zips, lost snaps, flat down — we fix it free, for the life of the jacket.

Traceable down

Scan the label to see the farm, the batch and the person who quilted your jacket.
